About
A specialised response to a European challenge
Behavioral healthcare is shifting from episodic, in-person delivery to hybrid and digital models. Digi-HealthPro helps the workforce make that transition safely and ethically.
The challenge
Mental ill-health costs the European Union roughly 4% of GDP. Across the partner countries, professionals are highly motivated but face a "connectivity paradox" in rural areas, an "AI familiarity crisis", and a lack of operational ethical guidance.
Who it is for
Behavioral health professionals — psychologists, social workers, counsellors, youth workers and community practitioners — working in public services, NGOs and private practice.
Objectives
- Shift the workforce from basic digital literacy to advanced, ethical and regulation-ready competencies.
- Provide clear, actionable ethical and legal guidance on AI, GDPR and the EHDS.
- Deliver flexible, time-respecting training through a blended, micro-credentialed model.
- Ensure inclusive digital care that reaches rural populations and the "Silver Economy".
Methodology
The competency framework is grounded in Work Package 2 field research: a harmonised survey of 186 behavioral health professionals and four national focus groups across Greece, Spain, Türkiye and Bulgaria.
